13th Annual Conference & AGM – Leicester Hilton Hotel
The English Democrats 13th Annual Conference & AGM, is to be held at our now regularised venue (for the Annual Conference) of the Leicester Hilton Hotel, which is just off Junction 21 of the M1 Motorway, and the most Centrally located Hotel in England.
Delegates will begin arriving on Friday 18 September as they travel from all over England, and the main event on the Friday night is the Social in the Hotel Bar, and this year this coincides with the Rugby World Cup being held in England, and the Hotel have agreed to show the England v Fiji Game.
It’s an early start on the Saturday morning at 9 am with the final AGM of “VERITAS” the political party started by Robert Kilroy-Silk in 2005.
At 10am the English Conference (proper) starts incorporating the English Democrats AGM.
The host to the Conference will be Deputy Chairman Therese Hirst and Deputy South West Chairman Jenny Knight.
A full programme is planned with several guest speakers including the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex, as well as the normal programme of reports from the Party Chairman Robin Tilbrook, Party Secretary Derek Chairman, Treasurer Charles Vickers and Campaign Director Steve Uncles, including the announcement of candidates for the 2016 Police & Crime Commissioner Elections.
Several additions to the Manifesto will be put to the membership including policies to deal with Radical Islam, introduced by Policy Chairman Leon Martin.
The Conference will be closed with the singing of the English National Anthem – Jerusalem
The Conference Dinner is then held later in the evening followed by much merriment until the small hours.
Discussion regarding the “night before” occurs at breakfast on Sunday for those who stayed the night !
